I joined the financial services industry with Waddell & Reed in 2007, and then in 2021, joined LPL with our company’s merger. Working as a financial advisor, is a good blend of my business and education backgrounds – helping teach and guide adults working towards their retirement and financial goals. I graduated from Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC with a BS in business administration in 1989, followed by a BA in education from Cameron University in 1992.  I went on to teach mostly middle school for 15 years, specializing in accelerated/honors math and serving in several curriculum and campus leadership positions. The decision to become a financial advisor seemed to be an almost fluid next path when the opportunity arose in 2007.

My early life was that of a “military brat.” I attended 10 schools in 12 years as my father, a West Point graduate, was a career military man.  I graduated high school from the International School of Bangkok in 1980. Our home base was San Antonio, Texas, and so I attended college at Texas Christian University for a couple years before serving in the Army as a Signals Intelligence Analyst. During that time, I met my husband, John, and we were married in 1983. I then traveled with him and we started our family.  Moving frequently throughout my life, along with attending and teaching in different schools and states, helped make me independent and assertive, yet, flexible.  I have truly enjoyed learning and experiencing new challenges and adventures.

My husband retired from the military in 1998, and we returned to San Antonio where he continued to work in the civilian sector as a Physician Assistant. We have two grown children, Brian and Melissa, that we couldn’t be more proud of. Both of them have married and started families of their own.  John and I are loving being grandparents! Besides spending time with family and friends, I also enjoy the outdoors, jogging, hiking, gardening, and working on photo and scrapbook albums.
